The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of Nigeria, Dr. Tony Ojukwu OFR, SAN, has been elected President of the Network of National Human Rights Institutions in West Africa (NNHRI-WA).

The Hon. Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, has emphasized the importance of collaboration and commitment among stakeholders to advance reparatory justice in West Africa.

In a move to uphold human rights and promote justice, the Cross River State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Mr. Remi O. Ajuga, has facilitated the release of five detainees during a routine monitoring visit to the Yakurr Divisional Police Headquarters in Ugep.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said that it is working towards entrenching a sexual harassment policy to comprehensively address cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria.
