STANDING ORDERS AND RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF NIGERIA

Preliminary Provisions

Objectives:

  1. These Standing Orders and Rules of Procedure (hereafter called “Rules”) supplement the National Human Rights Commission Act 1995, as amended, and are designed to regulate the organization and govern the procedures of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria in accordance with provisions of the National Human Rights Commission Act 1995, as amended, hereafter referred to as the Act.
  2. In the absence of a provision in these Rules or in case of doubt as to their interpretation, the Governing Council of the Commission shall decide on the matter in question.
  3. In the event of conflict between these Rules and the Act, the latter shall prevail.
