The Governing Council, Management and Staff of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) are deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola (JSC, rtd), a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and former Chairman of the Commission.
We mourn the loss of this distinguished jurist, a champion of human rights, and a dedicated public servant.
Justice Ayoola's contributions to the development of human rights in Nigeria are immeasurable. During his tenure as Chairman of the NHRC, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the promotion and protection human rights, leaving an indelible mark on the Commission.
As we mourn him, we remember his exceptional leadership, wisdom, and passion for rule of law, justice and human rights. His legacy continues to inspire us to strive for a society where human rights are respected and upheld.
