The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) presents the July 2025 Human Rights Situation Dashboard, an analytical snapshot of human rights trends across Nigeria. In July, the NHRC received 331,035 complaints, with persistent issues including law enforcement abuses, freedom from discrimination, and economic, social, and cultural rights violations, signaling deep systemic challenges.
.The Observatory documented a troubling rise in deadly violence, including 15 killings in a Sokoto reprisal attack and three police officers lost in a Kebbi abduction attempt, alongside targeted killings, banditry, and cultist violence, particularly affecting vulnerable communities.
NHRC remains steadfast in its advocacy, urging security agencies to uphold professionalism, government to tackle root causes like poverty and impunity, and citizens to stand against injustice. With plans to enhance complaint resolution, deepen law enforcement collaboration, and expand real-time tracking, NHRC, supported by partners like the UNDP via the Tripartite Partnership Programme, continues to champion a Nigeria where rights are lived and dignity is upheld.
